When Kenner toys closed down their Cincinnati headquarters in 2000, many of the products and artwork in the warehouse were ordered destroyed. Much of the product was shipped to the new Rhode Island headquaters.
To save time and money "flat files" (files commonly pertaining to artwork, displays, or blueprints) were ordered to be thrown out. The weight of the paper product was simply too heavy and cumbersome to make the trip East.
A small group of collectors salvaged a portion of the products that were thrown in the dumpster.
In 2000, Hollywood Heroes brokered one of the largest single collections of prototypes, artwork and store displays ever to be assembled in the history of the hobby. In total, hundreds of one of a kind pieces of artwork were saved from the garbage and offered to collectors.
This brokerage deal also yielded one of the largest Store Display selections ever to be cataloged on the market.
