Hollywood Heroes is proud to present something very unique and truly "one of a kind." This is the ORIGINAL PENCIL AND CHALK artwork that was intended for use on the box covers and inserts for the "Tuskegee Airmen" line of dolls.
This artwork is done in a medium of colored pencil and chalk. It is rendered on fine velum paper, sometimes referred to as "onion skin," because you can see right through it.
The artwork was actually rejected by Hasbro corporation for a unique reason... the faces looked like real people. The artist for the series used actual historical photos of the Tuskegee Airmen for the box. Hasbro could not actually find these people, or their families for consent. Foreseeing vast legal consequences... the company rejected all of this artwork and commissioned a new set. Sources say this decision cost the firm close to $75,000 just for the new set of artwork and paintings.
This original artwork is sized at 20" X 25". It would look stunning matted and framed in any office or home.
When asked to comment on this artwork, our client simply stated, "This is not just original artwork, this is history. [I mean] these are the actual faces of these brave men who served in the war."
